How our coverage works

Every place on this page has its own guide to local housing, weather and permit notes. County pages cover the ground between towns, so start there if yours is not listed.

Coverage is not one flat circle. Water and bridges shape the map as much as miles do. Hanahan is about 18 minutes by road and James Island about 20. Kiawah Island is 32 miles out but takes about 74 minutes, while Moncks Corner is 28 miles out and takes about 39. Johns Island is closer than Ladson in miles, and Ladson is still the shorter drive.

How distance changes timing

These are normal drive times from our Charleston base. They are distance estimates, not arrival windows.

Group Examples Drive from Charleston
Closest to our base Hanahan, James Island, North Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Folly Beach About 18 to 36 minutes
Extended region Ladson, Goose Creek, Summerville, Isle of Palms, Kiawah Island About 26 to 74 minutes
Wider regional Ravenel, Hollywood, Walterboro, Georgetown, Beaufort About 32 to 99 minutes
Statewide reach Orangeburg, Sumter, Bluffton, Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head Island About 89 to 148 minutes

Close to Charleston, a call usually turns straight into a scheduling conversation. In the wider groups, we plan the trip by phone first. For statewide reach, long-distance visits are arranged by phone: call first so we can confirm a date. We will not promise a fast arrival to a town two hours away.

Whichever group you fall in, have your address, the symptom and the system's age ready, and tell us if anyone in the house is at risk from heat or cold. If you are comparing contractors, our homepage explains how to check a quote.

Questions about this service

Is my town on your list if I do not see it here?

It may still be covered. Start with your county, since our county pages cover the places between the towns listed here. Then call with your street or nearest crossroads. We will tell you plainly whether we can get to you, and roughly when, before you book anything.

How long will it take a technician to reach me?

We do not publish arrival times, because they depend on the day's calls, traffic and where the last job was. The drive times here are a guide to distance. A trip to Hanahan is a short run from Charleston, while Sumter or Hilton Head Island needs a date set by phone.

Do you charge extra for long-distance trips?

Ask when you call. Distance can affect how a visit is planned and priced, and we quote before work begins, so you will know where you stand first. On trips of an hour or more, it helps to describe the problem in detail so the technician brings the likely parts.

Can you serve a rental or second home I do not live in?

Yes, as long as someone can give access and approve the quote. That comes up on the islands, where owners are often away. Tell us who will meet the technician or how to reach the equipment, and who should get the quote, so the visit is not wasted.
